The South African Gold Coin Exchange (SAGCE) has been a household name in the coin industry in South Africa for over 35 years with Alan Demby as the current chairman. We are currently the largest distributor of gold investment, bullion, collectable coins and numismatic coins in South Africa and have been trading since 1972.

The first Scoin Shop, (the retail division of the South African Gold Coin Exchange) was opened 6 years ago and we now have a total of 9 stores with more planned to be opened in the near future.

It was minted by the Mint of Norway. The medallion features the name and bust of Nelson Mandela as well as an inscription on the reverse stating “honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize 1993.”

The Gold Coin Incorporation has been appointed by the Olympic Committee to distribute the 2008 Beijing Olympic coins worldwide. They fall under the People’s Bank of China which is well known for minting and issuing the famous gold Panda Coins.
